Description of Job

Responsible for all general park maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including: restrooms, showers, vault toilets, cabins & yurts, campsites, picnic areas, trails, etc. Operates and performs routine maintenance on State owned vehicles and equipment. Assures quality customer service and facility maintenance, repair and cleanliness. Provides information and assistance to visitors. May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work and transporting materials and supplies. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • If position requires operation of a motorized vehicle, must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Willing to work outside, sometimes in inclement weather.
  • Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday.
  • Knowledge of power tools and hand tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of small engine and other equipment maintenance and repair preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications may be required.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • The park may provide some uniform items, however, employee may be required to purchase some items at their own expense.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position will perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
