Account Director Primary purpose:
Responsible for the maintenance of the existing business on the interstate pipeline assets which includes contract renewals and customer support.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
•Analyzes U.S. supply/demand fundamentals.
•Analyzes pricing and market trends in various regions across the country.
•Evaluates contracted capacity and flows on competitive pipelines.
•Provides support to the Commercial Group regarding pertinent pricing and market trends.
•Analyzes the potential market opportunity for a variety of commercial functions, including commodity sales/purchases, hedging, transportation, storage, etc.
•Supports the monetization of commodity recovery function of the commercial group.
•Executes short-term physical and financial transactions as needed.
•Maintains an awareness of changing market conditions, new developments, and competitor strategies.
•Evaluates and disseminates market intelligence to management.
•Provides regular fundamental market evaluation and analysis to the Commercial Group and others as needed.
•Tracks sales performance by market and product lines.
•Communicate with customers (current and prospective) on a regular and consistent basis to understand needs and ensure they are satisfied with the services provided by the Company. Topics include:
—Point change requests, discount requests, invoice disputes, operational issues on our pipelines, invoice review, rollovers/right of first refusal process, contract assignments, maintenance impacts and document control.
•Renew existing business on the interstate pipeline.
•Identify and optimize Park and Loan opportunities
•Prepare and conduct open seasons.
•Understand customer utilizations of Tallgrass services to uncover business opportunities.
•Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
•Exercise decision making authority when needed and assess the level of decisions that can be made versus those that should be brought to upper management.
•Set self-imposed deadlines and communicate to management and demonstrate ownership in assigned projects and resolution of customer maintenance issues.
•Ensure that all issues and projects receive the appropriate level of urgency within own workload and that of others involved in the matter.
•Work with internal departments including but not limited to scheduling, gas control, system design, project management, regulatory, legal, environmental.
•Develop presentations for customers and management.
•Understand competing pipeline services and projects and actively develop/pursue new business opportunities and strategy.
•Bring new, creative growth to the assets and keep appraised of market intelligence.
•Communicate with management, including the Vice Presidents and President for TIGT/TPC and REX on goals and objectives as requested.
•Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
•Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
•Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
•Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
•Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
•Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
•Minimum five (5) years’ experience actively working in the natural gas industry.
•Must have a previous working knowledge of FERC natural gas regulations.
•Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
• Previous Trading, Scheduling, Engineering, or Project Management experience.
