The Lead Golf Maintenance Worker is responsible for golf course maintenance duties as well as general cleanliness and upkeep of the course.

Function, Duties, Responsibilities
Pay Level: Varies depending on status
The Lead Golf Maintenance Worker reports directly to and is under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent at assigned golf course in the Golf Department.
Mowing of greens, tees, roughs and landscaped areas.
Repairs divots and surround areas.
Performs landscaping such as maintaining flower beds, hand trimming, and pulling weeds.
Assists in the maintenance of the miniature golf course.
Performs minor irrigation repairs in the landscape areas.
Assists in fertilizer and herbicide applications.
May be required to be available for on-call snow removal depending on facility.
Picks up and disposes of trash and other miscellaneous articles.
Participates in and assists in other projects when needed.
Complies with District and departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
May be required to drive a personal and/or District vehicle for meetings as needed.
Performs other duties and special assignments as directed by Supervisor.
May serve as an Emergency Service worker.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
Experience: Previous experience working at a golf course is strongly preferred but not required.
A combination of experience and education may be considered.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: how to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the operations of the golf course; use and operating standards of equipment and hand tools.
Ability to: provide outstanding customer service and get along with coworkers, patrons, and supervisors; able to work varying weekly work hours.
Must be highly motivated and take direction well.
Preferred Certifications: Any related certifications.
Driving Requirements: Depending on location must possess a valid Colorado Driver License or have the ability to obtain upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Work Environment, Equipment and Physical Demands
This position works indoors and outdoors. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat and is subject to continuous interruptions and loud background noises.
Tools & Equipment Used:
To successfully perform the required job duties, this position regularly uses: golf carts, mowers, edgers, trimmers, shovels, rakes, hand-held and power tools, other mechanical equipment, a telephone, and custodial cleaning supplies and equipment. Dependant on facility may be required to drive a vehicle for business purposes.
Regularly: Be able to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward, reach above shoulder, bend, lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate a motor vehicle and golf cart. The employee must communicate clearly and effectively, must understand and be understood. The employee must be able to see close up and at a distance with vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision.
Occasionally: Climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs.
Rarely: Lift up to 100 lbs. or more.
