Part Time Ice Maintenance Technician-Family Sports Center

- Job Summary
The Ice Maintenance Technician is responsible for driving the Zamboni and assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of ice rink surfaces and surrounding facilities (player benches, locker rooms, Zamboni garages, walkways, glass, boards, etc.) while keeping events on time according to the ice events schedule. Technician will also have opening and/or closing responsibilities. Responsible for ice maintenance including; resurfacing, edging, flooding, filling holes, chipping ice along dasher boards and maintaining proper ice thickness as required by usage.
- Job Requirements
Education: Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Experience working in ice rinks or maintenance.
Required Certifications: CPR, First Aid and AED certificates, or the ability to obtain upon hire, are required.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires through knowledge of the techniques and equipment involved in the components of custodial maintenance, preventative maintenance and the operations of an ice rink. Equipment includes but not limited to the Zamboni machines, ice edger, ice compressors, cooling towers and boiler units.
The ability to: work productively without supervision within established organizational values, policies and procedures; provide and teach superior customer service and successfully interact with employees, customers; work a flexible schedule including weekends, some evenings, and holidays as business operations demand.
