Overall Job Objective

Job Summary

Under supervision of the Head Golf Professional the Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for golf shop operations. May be assigned a variety of duties in guest services and the daily operation of the Pro Shop and golf course, this may include assisting the Merchandiser Coordinator with the selection, receiving, inventory, and sales and promotion of all hard goods in the golf shops. Assignments are based on the needs of the operation. Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. The Assistant Golf Pro will be required to instruct District Golf Lessons, youth programs, and golf camps.
 

Job Requirements

 Education: Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
 
Experience: Minimum of two (2)  years of experience working in golf course operations with some supervisory duties preferred.
 
A combination of experience and education may be considered. Level of education and experience will be taking into consideration when assigning a pay level.
 
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be highly motivated and take direction well. Must process knowledge of golf swing and club construction and impact of various head designs and shafts on ball flight laws.
 
Must process ability to communicate effectively with golf manufacturers and vendors.
 
Knowledge of: all aspects of a golf course operations; emergency first-aid procedures, basic principles of customer service.
 
The ability to successfully: work productively without supervision within established organizational values, policies and procedures;  provide superior customer service and successfully interact with coworkers, customers, and supervisors while managing multiple customers; handle cash flow with accuracy and proper handling in adherence to established procedures.
 
Skilled in: training, communications, and the use of a computer and related golf equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.


Preferred Certifications: Must be a PGA Associate working towards PGA Membership

Work Hours: This is a variable hour position. Please note weekly work hours will vary and may require days, evenings, weekends and/or holiday hours.
