SUMMARY:
The Political Fundraising Officer for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) leads political fundraising for Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains Action Fund (PPRMAF) by developing and implementing political fundraising strategic plans and initiatives. The ideal candidate for this position will be an engaging and dynamic leader who will raise funds and support other gift officers with political giving strategies. The candidate will be determined to advance the organization’s fundraising, growth, messaging, and political priorities across the PPRM region, focusing on New Mexico and Colorado. Late or weekend hours may be required along with some travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

At least two years of demonstrated success in political, online, or other direct fundraising.

Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, fundraising systems, direct fundraising, or event sponsorship procurement.
Proven knowledge of legislative and electoral processes.
List management, database experience, and reporting experience.
Excellent and versatile written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret online data and metrics, giving trends, and opportunities for engagement.
Ability to create a strategic fundraising plan and regularly analyze and adjust.
Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Flexible and able to function effectively in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Ability to clearly translate legislative and political happenings into commonplace terms.
Collaborative and energetic project leader with the ability to support the PPRM mission publicly.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with major donor stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge or similar database, and EveryAction or the VAN is preferred.
Fundraising event, sponsor and benefit acquisition and tracking experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Key duties include direct fundraising, systems management, and sponsorship acquisition and fulfillment.

Exhibit a high-level of strategic and analytical thinking, political savvy, and initiative.
Create and implement multi-year fundraising and stewardship strategies.
Increase political fundraising dollars and donors by directly raising funds from donors, providing support and strategy for other fundraisers, and upgrading local and national donors.
Cultivate, steward, and manage a portfolio of donors and create and implement a strategy for finding and soliciting new political donors.
Provide regular updates to development team colleagues on the political climate in our region and assist gift officers with political fundraising strategies.
Provide monthly, detailed fundraising reports to the VP of Development and the ED of PPRMAF.
Provide event support to our Manager of Special Events in Colorado and New Mexico.
Develop effective tools to measure progress towards goal and adjust strategy where necessary.
Collaborate with Director of Donor Relations and Operations on annual political income and expense budget.
Participate in email and communication strategy group to help coordinate strategic online outreach and activist engagement efforts to advance legislative, electoral, campaign, and coalition building objectives.
Coordinate and strategize fundraising emails focusing on thematic campaigns such as, sustaining donors, one-time donors, and year-end gifts.
Monitor online fundraising agreement with PPFA.
Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)
Other duties as assigned.
