Job Description
PFG's IT Department has a new opportunity in the Denver Tech Center (DTC).  This candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing integrated systems solutions to technical and business problems at both tactical and operational levels for Shared Financial Services division. Researches/debugs/analyzes problems, plans/models solutions, and presents software and systems solutions while collaborating with and guiding other Information Technology (IT) associates. Works closely with suppliers and customers to ensure business or technical requirements are fulfilled in a quality manner and that technical resources are accurately estimated and carefully utilized. Using functional requirements, oversees efforts across the full systems development lifecycle including development of technical specifications, configuration of applications, and, whenever applicable, construction-testing and implementation of computer programs. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

For business processes, will lead others to implement best practice integrated system solutions and process changes for complex business opportunities. Lead planning, estimation, and documentation of functional requirements for complex business opportunities. Proactively research business process problems. Collaborate with business, IT technical resources, and suppliers to evaluate integrated solutions. Design, review, and present conceptual functional solutions for complex business opportunities that enable process change, continuous improvement, competitive advantage, and that challenge the status quo. Plan, oversee, and deliver functional configuration and implementation of solutions for complex business opportunities based on design specifications. Deliver on time and on budget.

For the vendor Shared Service Center stakeholders and constituents:
  • Assist in evaluating processes and technology issues.
  • Analyze and evaluate end user workspaces and evolve to optimize the business processes.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend adjustments in people (roles), process and technology.
  • Act as lead analyst in projects that involve or impact Shared Financial Services.
For workspace services, conduct assessments for the integration between the desktop, application and backend databases to ensure an optimized application environments for end users.

Within application services, lead planning, estimation, and documentation of technical requirements focusing on areas of system development over and above areas addressed in functional analysis. Identify incident trends and build proactive plans to eliminate. Technical design, review, and present technical solutions for complex systems with multiple integration points, multiple functions, and/or unique logic requirements that are effective, efficient, maintainable, and that provide reliability and scalability for new solutions. Plan, oversee, and deliver technical solutions according to design specifications using techniques that adhere to IT guiding principles. Deliver on time and on budget. Develop standards and oversee technical maintenance of applications according to architectural guidelines. Ensure that all “core” systems are maintained according to architectural guidelines. Build plans and oversee decommissioning efforts for all “declining” and “obsolete” systems.

For IT processes, lead others in compliant and effective application of release management processes and procedures. Assist others with applying fundamental System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes to ensure delivery of quality system changes.

Assist with project management or stages of projects and lead others in the proper and effective application of project management processes and procedures.  Execute project management disciplines and conduct quality reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to approved scope and design specifications.  Lead and assist others with conducting effective investigation/diagnosis of incidents and root cause analysis of problems.  Develop, implement and document solutions in a timely manner and validate with users that service has been restored.  Lead and assist others with conducting proper urgency, impact, and risk assessment of change requests.  Plan, schedule, implement and document changes in accordance with core SDLC and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes.

Lead and assist others in properly identifying operating and capital expenses and ensuring timely and accurate time tracking of all work hours.  Produce accurate estimates for all work activities and tasks.

Experience as Analyst in call center environment; experience as Analyst for financial systems; specifically SAP, Open Text (VIM), etc. Experience as a business process analyst (BPA)
