We are searching for a Senior Signal/Image Processing Engineer to join our exceptional team. In this role you will develop image processing capability and data collection strategy aligned with current and future needs across the Space Systems Company's remote sensing portfolio. You will be part of the Optical Payload Center of Excellence (OPCoE) to support enterprise wide objectives and utilize emerging capabilities benefitting multiple programs. Some of your day to day responsibilities will include:

• Algorithm design in the fields of image and video processing
• Characterization and organization of natural phenomena into systematic and meaningful patterns for the benefit of project advancement, product development, and operational implementation
• Conducting research, design, development, and verification of signal and image collection system requirements, and processing and dissemination computer algorithms
• Design, development and analysis of systems and algorithms for the extraction of information from signal and image sensors
• Rapid prototyping of algorithms in a MATLAB or Python environment
• Implementation of algorithms in operational quality, high performance C++
• Conducting trade studies and communicating results through technical reports and presentations
• Participation in intellectual property development, business capture process, and support customer engagement

We are looking for a colleague who demonstrates the ability to explain complicated concepts in a straight forward manner that can be understood by the non-expert in the form of a briefing.

**This position can be located in Denver, CO or Sunnyvale, CA**

You would typically have a Bachelors degree and 5 - 10 years of professional experience, a Masters and 3 - 8 years, or a PhD and 0 - 5 years.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Optics, or another closely related field
• Experience or knowledge of processing optical and/or SAR imagery
• Developing and implementing in C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar programs
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired skills
• Masters or PhD in fields noted above
• Experience or exposure to image phenomenology and modalities such as EO, MSI, PI, IR, hyperspectral, LIDAR, SAR, or polarimetric SAR.
• Knowledge or experience with image calibration, formation, and exploitation
• Developing and implementing change detection, 3D reconstruction, and video moving object detection, tracking algorithms, Computer Vision and/or Machine Learning.
• Image compression techniques and standards
• GDAL, FFmpeg, OpenCV, and Numpy/SciPy
• Proposal experience
• Current security clearance
