We are seeking a Thermal Prep Specialist (Senior Technician) for the build, development, and installation of Multi-Layer Insulation (commonly referred to as blankets) onto satellites and other spacecraft. You will make, organize, and install MLI blankets onto various spacecraft during their production. These MLI blankets ensure that each spacecraft performs within its spacecraft thermal design requirements.

The construction of MLI blankets that are installed on our spacecraft is an art. We are looking for someone who is driven, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of craftmanship required to ensure our blankets support our customers’ missions.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:
• MLI Blanket installation on multiple LM Space spacecraft
• Repairing/modifying damaged blankets to ensure they are 100% space-worthy
• Make MLI blankets from engineering design blueprints
• Assisting programs with the proper organization and storage of MLI blankets

Typical Experience:
• Typically has an Associates degree and 1 year of experience or equivalent experience/combined education

Basic Qualifications
• Able to follow instructions and complete project start to finish.
• Must be willing to travel
• Must be willing to support off-shift and weekend work
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Ability to read engineering blueprints and understand work instructions
• Understand proper MLI blanket handling while material is in production flow
• Pays attention to detail
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Self-starter who excels in a team environment, ability to work in a collaborative environment with dynamic program schedules.
• Other jobs and duties may be assigned at the discretion of the company
• Ability to obtain Secret or TS clearance
