Job Description

Health Images at South Denver (80134) located off of I25 & Lincoln Avenue is looking to hire a Full Time Patient Services Representative.

The schedule will typically be between the hours of 10:00am and 9:00pm Monday-Friday along with one Saturday a month working from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

**Some flexibility is needed at times to help cover shifts so please list your shift availability on your application.

Summary/Objective:  

The Patient Service Representative I performs administrative tasks such as answering phones, data entry, patient check in/out, and assists in scheduling patient appointments. Enters charges, verifies patients’ insurance coverage, received payments from patients and issues receipts. Provides spectacular service by doing what is necessary to take care of the patient (i.e. schedule them timely, schedule them at the first available appointment time regardless of center location, and providing accurate exam prep information).

Essential Functions

  1. Answers inbound calls to the Center.

  2. Provides a friendly and warm greeting to all patients and/or providers.

  3. Checks scheduled patients in/out and ensures proper documentation is received form patient.

  4. Collects co-pays, co-insurance and deductible if necessary.

  5. Works all scheduling queues in an efficient manner while meeting the goal of calling all new patients within 30 minutes. Schedules and confirms appointments.

  6. Assists with the verification of insurance. Asks all screening questions completely to allow the HUB to obtain accurate insurance authorizations.

  7. Ensures accurate data entry for patient registration.

  8. Assists with medical records as needed.

  9. Requests all patients complete a satisfaction survey after their exam.

  10. Listens and resolves patient, provider and any customer complaints. Communicates to PSR Lead and/or Center Manager as needed.

  11. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an outpatient clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • One plus year of experience providing exceptional customer service – healthcare environment preferred

  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately

  • Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment

  • Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation

  • Strong communication skills & professional demeanor

Education/Certifications:

  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
