Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes:

- A copy of current class schedule
- Please note that students may copy their class schedule from eWolf and paste into a Word document. Then save it to your desktop in order to upload to the OpenHire eForm application (Step 6).

GENERAL SUMMARY - WC Supplemental Instruction Leader - Academic Success Center, Work Study/Student Hourly
FRCC is seeking motivated and dedicated students to serve as Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders to support student success. SI leaders facilitate student learning and help students better understand concepts or applications of course content through collaborative learning techniques and modeling course specific study strategies. Each SI Leader is assigned one course they have already been successful in, that typically poses a challenge to students. The SI attends each class session and provides weekly small group sessions covering the course content using active learning principles. The SI Leaders support students and assists them in gaining effective study skills and maximizing their potential for their academic success. While attending the course, the SI Leaders gather insight into the course content and the instruction methods in use. The SI Leaders also maintain ongoing contact with course professors and the Academic Success Center.
Attend all class meetings of the selected course, take accurate notes, and understand all the homework/reading assignments and projects.
Organize and plan regularly scheduled SI sessions that include group activities, study skills development, and active review of course content.
Create activities and other artifacts to help students improve their understanding of course content.
Facilitate up to three 60 – 90 minute group study sessions per week throughout the semester.
Provide additional SI sessions as necessary (e.g. prior to quizzes and exams).
Make regular announcements about the availability of SI study sessions to students and develop creative ways to encourage participation and market SI to students as directed.
Meet with the course professor regularly to communicate about course material and SI sessions.
Report immediately to the coordinator when critical issue(s) arises.
Attend and participate in SI Leader group meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Collect attendance data and submit bi-weekly to the Academic Success Center.
Submit bi-weekly timesheet on eWolf as scheduled by the FRCC Payroll Office.TIME COMMITMENT
Attend 1-2 day training and orientation prior to Fall/Spring semester and complete online training components as directed.
Work between 8 to 12 hours per week to attend class, plan and facilitate SI sessions, attend group meetings and trainings, and meet with course professor.
Complete three-hour required training and professional development sponsored through FRCC.
Follow all procedures and policies set by the Academic Success Center.
Act in a professional manner, and be approachable sensitive to and respectful of the student's needs.
Be prepared and be on time for each SI session.
Be familiar with campus resources available to students.
Keep all information on students you work with confidential.
Support and care about student success.

- Must be a FRCC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the semester of employment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Earned grade of B+ or higher in the selected course.
- Prior enrollment in the selected course highly desirable.
- Faculty recommendation (content competency is required).
- Capacity to work with students with diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to work the time scheduled.
Front Range Community College, as required by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), has compiled a comprehensive Campus Security Report.
