Job Description:
Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed. The purpose of this position is to work on drawings of routine scope to support the Design Area Lead or Lead.

AutoCAD Drafter Essential Functions:
• Prepare basic complexity 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings
• Produce comprehensive system wiring and architectural documentation
• Create and modify existing one-lines
• Work on creating or modifying floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, architectural details, and mounting details
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plan sheets
• Provide close interface with other discipline functions
• Revise drawings as needed based on redlines and markups
• Produce As-Built drawings at the end of projects
• Recommend updates that may improve our process and CAD standard
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
• Manage time with respect to project deadlines and keep supervisor aware of scheduling issues
• Manage documentation files and sort accordingly
• Maintain and build block library
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
• A combination of education and 3 years directly related experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications
• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study
• Basic knowledge of 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems and procedures
• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
• Practical field experience
• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail and spreadsheets
