Job: Asset Recovery Officer III

United Western Bank, a subsidiary of United Western Bancorp, is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill an Asset Recovery Officer III position in our downtown office. The Asset Recovery Officer III is responsible for restructuring problem business banking, commercial, real estate and single family loans of larger size and greater complexity. Interacts with lending officers, credit officers and borrowers to better secure collateral, equity or other assets of the borrower. Underwriting and analyses of distressed asset acquisitions. Duties include but are not limited to:

Oversees the problem Community Bank Portfolio.

Analyze problem loans and recommend alternative solutions to mitigate risk and maximize recovery.

Works with sub servicers/vendors to coordinate and effectuate workout initiates and REO Disposition.

Responsible for delinquency monitoring and reporting including the forecasting of reductions/additions and potential charge-offs.

Responsible for workout and similar initiatives for the Community Bank Portfolio to provide review and analysis and recommendations for solutions to problem loans.

Prepares and presents reports on assets to the Asset Quality Committee.

Some travel required.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting or equivalent experience.

Position Knowledge/Experience:
5 years relevant experience in banking/financial services industry in collections/workout area.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Basic understanding of Accounting

Understand legal documentation, foreclosure and bankruptcy

Be articulate, professional yet firm in communications with customers, lawyers and other vendors.

Ability to read and understand legal documents (Notes, Deeds, Loan Agreements, Sales Contracts, Title Policies, etc.).

Understanding of accounting principles including general ledger entries, debits/credits, etc.

Ability to effectively interact with other team members including Portfolio Monitoring, Loan Review and Financial Accounting.

Professional appearance and demeanor

Strong Excel skills.

Strong leadership, presentation and communication skills.
