Title: Administrator, Senior – UNIX Linux Operating System

SUMMARY The Enterprise Storage Administrator is a member of a team of specialists maintaining a rapidly changing complex, state-of-the-art Windows, AIX UNIX, and Linux server farm that support enterprise growth and the development of new business opportunities. The team of specialists is challenged with providing an environment that is reliable, flexible, and cost effective. The Enterprise Storage Administrator creates backup strategies to meet business data recovery needs and optimize system performance and is responsible for all aspects of storage array administration for the District.

EXPERIENCE 3-5 years experience performing Backup and Storage Administration in a large network environment. Experience with Symantec Veritas NetBackup is required. Must also have successful experience in the direct support of a large enterprise Inter/Intranet service organization, including the areas of hardware and software configurations and maintenance, facility and capacity monitoring and evaluation, vendor liaison, and customer service. Experience in SAN attached storage using native multi-pathing and Veritas. Experience with entire Veritas product suite (file system, volume management, database extensions, NetBackup, Enterprise Vault)

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or information systems

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS One or more of the following certifications preferred Symantec Veritas NetBackup, EMC Storage Array Administration, and EMC MirrorView. IBM AIX or Sun System Administration
