Title: Admininistrator, Enterprise Storage

SUMMARY Plan and coordinate Unix(Solaris/AIX/Linux) operating systems installation, maintenance and management of operational activities concurrent with long range capacity and strategic planning projects. The Senior UNIX/Linux Operating System Administrator is responsible for all aspects of UNIX and Linux system administration including testing, configuring, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server hardware and software as well as installation of third-party software applications and backup/restore procedures. The UNIX/Linux System Administrator will work closely with all other members of the Infrastructure Services team to maintain a complex server environment that is both robust and reliable, and meets the continually evolving needs of the organization and the changes in technology to support enterprise growth and the development of new educational opportunities.

EXPERIENCE Seven + years experience with support and management as an Unix (Solaris/AIX/Linux) Server Administrator in a large enterprise. Experience with managing servers remotely in a distributed environment. Experience in installation, configuration, operating system hardening, performance tuning, monitoring, capacity planning and troubleshooting on Unix (AIX/Solaris/Linux) large-scale (100+ servers), customer-facing, high availability environment.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or information systems and ongoing specialized training.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS One or more of the following certifications is strongly preferred:
AIX UNIX Administration, Red Hat Linux Engineer, Oracle Database Administration IBM AIX or Sun System Administration
