Job: Financial/Cost Analyst

Manufacturing service center seeks a Financial/Cost Analyst to develop innovative analytical approaches to maximize profits and minimize credit and/or operating losses and other risk exposures. This position will identify and analyze business trends through the use of performance metrics and benchmarking.

Essential functions of the position include:

Provide rapid financial analysis of production and sales trends, and other key performance measures such as inventory turnover, ROTA and error free delivery for company leadership.

Develop, maintain, assess and analyze financial results and forecasts to ensure company goals are met

Provide frequent support on a request basis to President, CFO and Managers for evaluating customers, vendors and purchase pricing

Assist with developing innovative and efficient value chain solution

Provide support in analyzing day to day operations to achieve aggressive profit growth

Develop company performance to be the leading distributor and processor, comparing the financials and assets management of competitors

Provide monthly reports of shipments and inventories and compare industry trends

Compare monthly and annual company performance with the Steel Industry Statistics

Provide quarterly and annual company financial reports to the industry and compare with industry benchmark data

Design and perform Excel reports utilizing data drawn from company accounting database

Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and balance sheet

Prepare Excel and PowerPoint presentations

Provide documentation and requested data to internal and external auditors

Complete necessary journal entries on a monthly basis

Experience:

Minimum 3 years experience as a financial analyst or cost analyst

Prefer experience in system implementations

Education or Formal Training:

Bachelors degree

CPA preferred
