Job: Temporary Maintenance Tech

SUMMARY
Support all plant and grounds maintenance for all the facilities belonging to and being leased by Catholic Charities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive all daily work orders from Supervisor or Maintenance Tech II person.
• Maintain all vehicles belonging to the facilities program.
• Works alone or with Supervisor or Maintenance Tech II in all areas of grounds maintenance.
• Will perform preventative maintenance in all facilities.
• Keep all mechanical areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Will perform painting as necessary.
• Helps in the moving of furniture throughout the agency.
• Perform some janitorial duties.
• Assist Supervisor in major and minor repairs.
• Keep all lighting in proper working order.

QUALIFICATIONS
• One-year experience in the maintenance field.
• Must be able to drive a vehicle with a standard transmission.
• Must be able to work with cleaning agents, solvents, insecticides, weed and feed chemicals and paints.
• Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
• Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
