Job: Mental Health Specialist – Part-time

Clayton has a national reputation for improving early childhood education through direct services to children and professionals; research and advocacy so that all children-and especially those with limited opportunities-are prepared for success in school and society. Clayton Educare puts into practice the latest science, research, and evidenced-based strategies to help vulnerable infants, toddlers and preschoolers build the skills they need to arrive at kindergarten safe, healthy, eager to learn, and ready for school.

These grant funded positions are for a school year duration. Continued employment is contingent upon the receipt of ongoing grants.

Responsibilities include: Delivers culturally responsive mental health services (screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment) to Early Head Start/Head Start children & families. Must have experience working with families and children from diverse cultures preferably in a non-profit environment. Expertise in early childhood education, family dynamics and parenting in the context of different cultures.


Hours: Part-time 20 hours per week- bilingual preferred or (Benefits not eligible)
Part-time 32 hours per week – bilingual in Spanish is required – (Benefits available)

Minimum Education: Masters in Social Work or related field required and state licensed as a mental health clinician.

Minimum Experience: 2 years experience working with infants-5 years old and their families

Additional Requirements: Current PPD-TB and physical examination and criminal background check is required. Pediatric first aid, CPR and Universal Precautions, valid driver’s license with evidence of current auto insurance and acceptable driving record is required.
