Description

Job Summary

The Enrollment Counselor is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Regional Enrollment Director for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS). An Enrollment Counselor position requires a significant amount of phone work, one-to-one admissions counseling and facilitating information sessions. The primary responsibility of the Enrollment Counselor is to use counseling, sales, and motivational skills and experience to effectively assist prospective students in becoming enrolled students. This position will also involve developing relationships and recruiting opportunities with a variety of community organizations such as companies, non-profits, churches, and local businesses.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Understand how to apply proven marketing and sales techniques to attract students to Christian higher education.
2. Articulate and compel potential students to understand how Colorado Christian University (CCU) can fit their education and career goals.
3. Identify key sources for student recruiting opportunities through researching local markets, learning from local leaders, and continuing to cultivate relationships already established by CCU.
4. Effectively manage time for engaging prospective corporate contacts, by phone or in person, creating opportunities to discuss educational programs and schedule various events and forums to communicate to corporate employees.
5. Measure and regularly report corporate prospecting and student recruiting activities to leadership.
6. Regularly attend various networking and recruiting events to establish and cultivate corporate relationships and build a student lead pool.
7. Work effectively and positively with other CAGS staff and faculty to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the University community.
8. Contribute to the ongoing development of healthy spiritual community with students, staff and faculty.
9. Monitor enrollment and retention and provide appropriate evaluation, analysis and improvements as warranted by the monitoring results.
10. Function as a member of the University wide team focused on enrolling, retaining and serving adult and graduate online students.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


1. 2-5 years experience in college/university admission, public relations, corporate development, marketing, customer service or other related industries is preferred. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
2. Demonstrated personal commitment to Christ and ability to effectively present the unique aspects of Christ-centered higher education.
3. Highly motivated to achieve sales goals. Ability to utilize proven marketing techniques in attracting students to CCU.
4. Strong communication and organizational skills. Use time management effectively while balancing multiple tasks.
5. Demonstrated ability to present CCU's programs in a way that demonstrates to students how CCU directly aligns with their faith, education or careers.
6. Demonstrated high energy and ablity to work effectively as a team member and as an individual contributor.
7. Ability to learn and use admission software- Colleague, Recruiter. Familiarity with MS Windows - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
Nature of Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk; stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; speak with clarity, have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends. Some local and regional travel expected.
