Arapahoe Community College was founded in 1964 in Littleton, Colorado. Presently we serve nearly 9,500 students per semester in our credit and non-credit programs and offer over 100 degree and certificate programs. Arapahoe Community College has campuses located in Littleton, Parker and Castle Rock, Colorado.

POSITION: Dean, Arts, Design, Social and Behavioral Sciences

ASSIGNMENT: Full-time, 1.0

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Dean of Arts, Design, Social & Behavioral Sciences provides leadership and administrative support for the areas under his/her direction, including curriculum, budgeting, staffing, assessment and evaluation, staff and program development, and project approval.

Programs reporting to the Dean of ADSBS include:

  • Art (including Art History/Appreciation, Ceramics, Drawing, Jewelry/Metalwork, Painting, and Photography)
  • Criminal Justice

  • Interior Design
  • Multimedia/Graphic Design and Illustration
  • Music
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Colorado Gallery of the Arts

    The Dean reports to the Vice President of Instruction and is a member of the Learning Leadership Team and the President's Executive Team. The School of ADSBS programs and departments are located on the Main campus and at the Art and Design Center, with courses being offered at both the Parker and Castle Rock campuses. Instruction is committed to impacting students' lives positively every day.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Masters Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years minimum college teaching experience.
  • Three years minimum college administrative or supervisor experience in increasingly responsible positions.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master?s degree in a discipline within ADSBS
  • Experience teaching in at least one discipline in ADSBS.
  • Three years community college experience.
  • Experience teaching in multiple delivery methods.
  • Development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experience in facilities oversight and management.
  • Experience maintaining compliance with governing boards and/or accreditation agencies.
