Position Summary





Responsible for the management of food inventory, orders, menu preparation and revision, production sheets and sanitation requirements. Responsible for providing direction to dietary staff.


Essential Duties




*Prepare and serve meals as required. *Responsible for training new employee's in production and sanitation procedures. *Responsible for ensuring menu conflicts are avoided. *Develops new menus and reviews existing menus taking into consideration recommendations of alternative menu selections. *Produce and/or review production documents. *Responsible for assisting dietary staff and ensuring tasks are completed appropriately. *Ensures sanitation procedures are followed. *Other duties as assigned.






Skills, Experience and Education

High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred. *
Relevant certification preferred (i.e. Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Chef) *
3 years experience in quantity food preparation preferably in a health care facility. *
1-year experience in a supervisory capacity. *
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. *
Must possess excellent customer service skills.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements







Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.

Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours.

May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.

Is subject to frequent interruptions.

May interacts with residents, family members, and visitors.
