Blog Post: To be LinkedIn, or not to be; that is the question: Social networking hits the business world, but does it cut with a double-edged sword?

Keith,
I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn. -- Mary Increasingly, if you're not LinkedIn, you're left out." -- CNN Money This was message I received in an e-mail from LinkedIn, on behalf of Mary Cochran, operations manager at Catapultpr-ir.com. Mary being someone I've worked with before and someone who enjoys a certain amount of trust that goes along with that, I clicked on the link. It said: Immediately I was prompted to open an account at LinkedIn. In the interest of writing this blog item, I did sign up, despite the somewhat menacing, "you’ll be left out of the next e-business iteration if you don’t" kind of threat at the bottom of the message. But I didn’t offer any information. I am not one to open accounts at various websites for no apparent reason and won't be bullied by a quote from some allegedly credible third-source party such as CNN Money recommending that I give my personal information for this business networking service.
