Blog Post: The Best Companies to Work for in Colorado 2007... Rankings Announced

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Colorado State Council, six local SHRM chapters in Colorado, Jobing.com, Colorado Biz Magazine, and the Best Companies Group honored the 30 Best Companies to Work For in Colorado for 2007 during an awards ceremony at the Belmar Center today.  9News Business Reporter Gregg Moss emceed the event.  ** The complete list of finalists, in rank order, is at the end of this release. **  

“The SHRM Colorado State Council was proud to support this statewide Colorado program that recognizes the Best Companies to Work For,” said Diana Sadighi, Director of the SHRM Colorado State Council.  “The strong attendance at today’s event underscores the value of this event.  It is a standard of achievement and a distinction that makes companies more marketable to potential employees and customers.”

The Best Companies to Work For  in Colorado recognizes participants in two different categories in Colorado:  small/medium-sized companies (25-249 employees) and large-sized employers (250 employees or more).  

Through established research practices, a survey was sent to both employers and employees in a large and diverse pool of companies across Colorado.  The Best Companies group, in coordination with ModernThink, LLC scored the workplace practices survey along with the employee survey using a formula similar to, but not identical to, Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America.”  

To be eligible for consideration, companies had to meet the following criteria:

• Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business
• Be a publicly or privately held business
• Have a facility in the state of Colorado
• Have a minimum of 25 employees in the state of Colorado
   

Winners are highlighted in the August 2007 ColoradoBiz Magazine.  The complete list of finalists, in rank order, is at the end of this release.
