Blog Post: How can you avoid age discrimination during the hiring process?
posted Monday, June 4, 2007 10:02 PM
Our workforce is filled with productive contributors over the age of 40. Extended life spans due to quality medical care, health education and lifestyle choices are providing people with employment options long into their senior years. If you are over 40, 50, 60 and beyond, remember first it is illegal for the hiring manger to utilize your age as a criteria in the hiring process.
Secondly, keep in mind you do not have to present your entire work history. You can opt to present only a part of your resume labeled “recent work history” or “relevant work history”. Many experienced or senior workers will then add a section labeled “prior relevant experience” and simply refer to important work experience without mentioning dates.
