April 18, 2007: Downtown Luncheon Presentation of the Colorado School of Mines Florence Caldwell Scholarship Sponsored by: Hensel Phelps
In an effort to encourage more young women to pursue degrees and careers in science and engineering, Colorado School of Mines and the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce Stephanie Crabtree as the 8th recipient of the Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship. Stephanie and the past scholarship recipients will be recognized at the April 18th CWCC luncheon . Our luncheon speaker is Kristy Schloss. Kristy is President and CEO of Schloss Engineered Equipment, Inc., a 109-year old, Colorado-based environmental equipment design and manufacturing firm. It is the only woman-owned manufacturing firm in its industry in the U.S., and serves national and international clients due to its reputation for quality water, wastewater, hazardous waste, and bulk- material handling equipment. Schloss Engineered Equipment received an Export Achievement Certificate from the U. S. Department of Commerce, the National Exporter of the Year Award from the Small Business Administration and the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting. Her textbook, “Keys to Engineering Success”, is in publication by Pearson/Prentice Hall.
