Blog Post: Confused by Office software change? Come to the Accounting and Business School Open House!

posted Friday, June 19, 2009 1:26 PM

I know that speaking from my own experience, change can be difficult. Especially in an office environment where you like certain things to be a certain way. I like my drink cup on the right side of my mouse. I like for my file folders to be in alphabetical order. I like for my trash can to be full before it is taken out. I don’t know, maybe I’m weird! But all of us in office environments are weird in our own, special kind of way. :)

And don’t you just hate it when your computer software changes and “looks and feels” different? I know I do. A lot of offices nowadays (albeit, a couple years later) are making the switch from Microsoft 2003 Office products to the upgraded Microsoft 2007 Office products. Just when we weren’t able to fully comprehend Microsoft 2003 products to the greatest of their abilities, they decide to spring the upgraded 2007 version on us and confuse us even more. At the end of the day it could be debated whether or not the changes made for 2007 were worth it or not, or whether it created more mass hysteria. Either way, 2007 is the wave of the future for us office personnel (until the next version comes out anyway) so we better get used to it.

If you are struggling with the differences of 2007 over 2003 (or earlier!) now would be a great time to get up to speed with the advancements of Microsoft Office software. Taking a class in either Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, or Excel can be an inexpensive way to learn hands-on from an instructor who has forgotten more about Office software than the rest of us have ever learned. And believe me, these teachers don’t forget much!

Accounting and Business School of the Rockies offers just the kind of classes where you can learn in the kind of environment that welcomes discussion, one-on-one help from the teacher, and the opportunity to ask any and all questions that you may have about Microsoft Office. And while you learn the knowledge needed to take on Office 2007, you will get a Certificate at the end of the class which shows any and all on-lookers that you too know everything about Office 2007. It’s a great conversation starter as the Certificate hangs proudly over your mantel piece for all to admire.

If you are interested in learning more about Microsoft Office 2007 classes or more about the Accounting and Business School of the Rockies in general, come by for our Open House on June 30 th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. We will also have a short presentation on some of the differences from Microsoft 2003 to Microsoft 2007 at 5:00pm from one our teachers. Feel free to RSVP for the event by contacting Daniel Seatvet at Daniel@ABSRschool.com or 303-755-6885. We will look forward to seeing you there!
