Blog Post: Employee Engagement Impacts When Times Are Tough
posted Thursday, April 9, 2009 8:57 AM
Are you prepared for uncertain times? Are your employees positively impacting your business and customers? As a leader, how are you impacting your employees to achieve success in uncertain times? How are you measuring your results?
In a recent engagement project for a $248M credit union through our measurement tools we found that: · 40% of the employees had strong beliefs about the future of the credit union, and that 70% of them were explaining the benefits of membership and recruiting prospective employees, all the time. · Eighty percent of this same group strongly believed they were providing value added service to meet member’s needs. · We also found that more than three quarters of this group strongly believe that their job provides growth and development to achieve the credit union’s goal as well as a strong understanding of what they are supposed to be doing in their jobs. We are able to measure this credit union’s relative success by identifying where the quality manager/employee interactions are and identify the business impacts. The credit union knows that 40% of the staff is highly engaged. These highly engaged employees drive business goals, create new members, and provide value added services to members; creating a deeper relationship. Imagine the success the credit union would have if 60% of the employees were highly engaged? The credit union facilitates the employee engagement; we simply measured it.
